This policy explains what information WebsiteSelfHelp.com ("we", "us") collects and how we use it. We keep this simple because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Information you give us through the Website Help Finder or contact form: your website address, email, optional phone number, your answers about the issue, and anything you type in the notes.
- Basic technical data that most websites log, such as your IP address and browser type, used for security and to keep the site working.
We do not ask for your website passwords or private account access to use the free guides, and you should never enter passwords in our forms.
How we use it
- To understand your website problem and point you to the safest next step.
- To reply to you and, if you ask for help, to follow up about your request.
- To improve our guides and the help we offer.
Automated processing (AI)
We may use an automated assistant to help summarize your request internally and suggest which guide or next step fits best. Any such summary is for our own triage and does not make decisions about you beyond routing your request. The assistant is not given your passwords and does not provide server-level instructions.
Sharing
We don't sell your information. We may use trusted service providers (for example, email, hosting, or Google Analytics) to operate the site. If we suggest a freelancer marketplace, that's an external site with its own policies — review theirs before sharing information there.
Retention
We keep the information you submit for as long as needed to help you and for our reasonable business records, then delete or anonymize it.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us through our contact form.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use our guides (for example, which pages are read and how people arrive at the site). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you visit, your approximate location, your device and browser type, and how you reached the site. This information is collected and processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy; see also how Google uses information from sites that use its services. We also measure certain actions on the site, such as clicking a link to another website, starting or completing the Website Help Finder, or sending a form, but never the contents of what you type into our forms. We have Google signals turned on, which lets Google provide aggregated demographic and interest reports for visitors who are signed in to a Google account and have allowed ad personalization; you can control that in your Google ad settings. We use these reports only in aggregate to improve the site, and we do not use Google Analytics to identify you personally.
You can opt out of Google Analytics on all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings.
Cookies
We use cookies needed for the site to function (for example, to carry your result from the questionnaire to the result page), plus the Google Analytics cookies described above. We don't sell this data or use it for advertising.
